4H - O & M Shooting Sports

4H shooting sports encompass 9 primary shooting disciplines, including: Air Rifle, Air Pistol, .22 Rifle, Trap, Skeet, Muzzle Loading, Target Archery, 3D Archery, and Hunting & Wildlife. These activities are designed to engage youth in the exciting world of shooting sports.

Our club serves a vibrant mix of youth from Oceana and Mason County, and we are currently starting with Air Rifles as part of our 4H activities. As we expand and recruit more leaders, we plan to introduce additional shooting disciplines. Participants range in age from 9 to 19 years old, and we meet every other Tuesday. Our next meeting is scheduled for June 9 from 6-8 pm. If you have a youth interested in joining these youth shooting sports, simply come to the meeting, and we will welcome them aboard.

Additionally, we are seeking more leaders to help us offer a wider array of disciplines. If you are interested in contributing, please reach out to us or contact the local MSU extension office for assistance. All leaders must be vetted as 4H leaders, and to run a range, you can choose from spring and fall trainings to receive the specific training needed for the discipline you wish to support. You only need to attend one training session to start your journey.
