The 200 & 300-yard range is NOW OPEN!
The 100-yard range is open and ready for use. There are a few changes and new rules everyone needs to be aware of. There are no 25 or 50-yard target backstops, only a 100-yard backstop. Those who want to shoot at these yardages are encouraged to use the 50-yard range, which is between the skeet and trap ranges.
A list of rules is included below. These are posted at the range and inside the sign-in box:
Please take pride in our new range and clean up after yourself. Respect fellow shooters and members. Be safe, follow the rules and enjoy it.
Shotgun ranges are open to members and to the public on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM until noon.
On Tuesdays, skeet opens at 3:00 PM. Trap opens at 5:00 PM.
Ranges close when all shooters are done or 9:00 PM, whichever comes first.
Since Skeet begins earlier, those who wish to shoot after at about 6:00 should contact Bruce Krieger in advance at 231-757-2279 or 231-357-4598.
Special arrangements can be made for groups at other times.
Call Bruce Rosema at 231-499-6000 for information.
Please be aware when placing targets on the back stops on all rifle and pistol ranges. NO TARGETS are to be placed on any of the wood cross boards, posts, or target frames. Make sure your target is placed in the center of the backstop and your bullets are staying on the backstop and target. DO NOT move backstops, falling plate racks, or steel target hangers on the pistol ranges. They are placed where they are for various reasons and competitions. Check with the range manager if you would like to see them placed differently. DO NOT take it upon yourself to move them.
Please use the 25/50 yard range when trying to get your firearms on the target. DO NOT do this on the 100-yard range. It causes too much damage to the cross boards and posts.
RANGE CLOSURE: If there is a CLOSED SIGN POSTED, DO NOT USE THE RANGE. We try to minimize our range closures. At times, it becomes necessary to close them for maintenance, safety issues or when setting up competitions. We do try to post dates and times when we know they will be closed. Sometimes, circumstances don’t allow this. Please respect the Closed Signs.
We try to maintain and keep our ranges in good shape. Volunteers are the ones taking care of these. Abuse of them causes added expenses and someone’s time to repair them.
